On a quest for the perfect T-shirt in 1992, Moise Emquies managed to turn his curiosity and resourcefulness into a multi-million dollar company now called Splendid.

On his search for the softest, most technically perfect tee, Emquies fell into a new form of rayon and cotton and combined the two fabrics. Setting himself apart as a true innovator, Emquies merged Modal rayon and Pima cotton into a super soft, light and strong blend. He found the fabric he was searching for to make the perfect T-shirt, and the complete collection of Splendid was born. As Emquies describes, “I finally found the perfect tee to be deserving of the name Splendid: the ultimate, the best.”

In 2002, Splendid launched as a full T-shirt collection with nine basic bodies. Emquies had 27 fittings for the scoop neck alone and went through three fabric makers just to get the perfect fit, which can be described as “effortless, thoughtless, clean and simple.”

Seen on the pages the top fashion magazines, including Elle, Vogue and InStyle, as well as on screen in “Sex and the City” and “Mean Girls,” Splendid has taken the fashion world by storm.
